Risk and the Consequences:

Personal look at Jonathan’s story of how a dangerous risk changed him forever, he takes an in-depth look at the contributing factors and how his life was and is impacted. This session covers risk and the consequences of dangerous risk taking, seeking alternatives and implementing strategies to minimise risk.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this session, students will be able to;

–      Identify behaviours that are dangerous,

–      List the contributing factors that led to Jonathan’s accident,

–      Explain how drugs, alcohol and self-destructive behaviour can lead to unhealthy decision making,

–      Explain how a person’s life changes emotionally, socially, financial and physically after an accident,

–      List the innocent individuals impacted by a serious injury,

–      And how to devise and implement strategies to minimise risk to self and others.

Personal development:

This session covers Jonathan’s story briefly which is used to cover the topics of personal development. Jonathan suffered with terribly low self-esteem and confidence as a teenager, he explains the strategies he used after his accident to improve his outlook on life.

This is a personal development session covering building confidence and self-esteem, resilience, values, pride and honesty. Brief goal setting strategy discussion.

By the end of this session, students will be able to;

–      Identify consequences of dangerous behaviour,

–      Explain how low self-worth can impact your life,

–      List strategies to improve self-esteem and confidence,

–      Identify true friendships and be confident to speak up,

–      Empowered to seek help if required,

–      And implement a goal setting strategy.
